Eastern-Field

MARITIMES

The Arrowhead Native Bible Center continues to serve as a hub of activity for NCEM's Eastern-Field. As in past years, this summer will continue to see the facilities used for several weeks of children's camp, with First Nations young people attending from various areas of the Maritimes.

An overall view of the Eastern-Field reminds us that it is truly a needy area with too few workers to do the work that is necessary. NCEM is praying "the Lord of the Harvest" to send new missionaries to work with the Maritime team in the not too distant future.

There are over 40 reserves in the area with only a handful of NCEM missionaries serving full-time. One couple is serving in Happy Valley-Goose Bay (NL), but there is presently no one stationed on Newfoundland Island. Cape Breton Island (NS) and Mirimachi (NB) are in desperate need of full-time workers.

There are very few Native Christian believers in these areas. However, there are several standing true to the Lord in spite of the fact that they often are not able to attend regular fellowship and Bible study.

FRENCH QUEBEC

Another extremely needy area involving missionary outreach with NCEM is that of French-speaking First Nations people in Quebec. Presently there is only one couple ministering in the Riviere Rouge area. This couple is also responsible for establishing a permanent Native Bible camp ministry.
