NCEM's most northerly station is located in our Western-Field above the Arctic Circle, and we have workers in southern areas within a few minutes from the US border. So we've got a very geographically widespread field ... and that's just one of our Mission's four fields!
Church multiplying is our primary focus. Presently we have full-time Western-Field workers in about 10 communities. We also have several associate and semi-retired members who serve in First Nations ministries. Our work is among several First Nations, including: Blackfoot, Stoney, Cree, Denesuline, Beaver, Salishan, Slavey, Chilcotin, Dogrib, Kutchin, and others. Helping to cross linguistic and cultural hurdles, our missionaries have been involved in language learning and translation. The JESUS Movie has been translated into the Chilcotin, Dogrib (Tlicho) and Slavey languages. The Books of Acts, Colossians and 1 John are available on CD/cassette in the Dogrib language. In the Chilcotin language, the Book of Mark and, more recently, the Book of Genesis has been translated.
In our Western-Field there are numerous First Nations communities needing a strong indigenous multiplying church. If you sense God calling you to serve with us, we'd be happy to talk with you and try to answer any questions you may have.
